Fairfax Free Book Bus

The Fairfax Free Book Bus is a 503(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. Our goal is to provide free books to children in Fairfax County to improve literacy and inspire a life-long love of reading. We want to help children have a home library. With our community partners we work to collect gently used children's book and plan events in Fairfax County to distribute the books.

Since 2022, the FFBB  has collected and distributed more than 10,000 books to local children.  

According to the US Department of Education, children who have more books in their homes tend to perform better academically and are more likely to finish high school and pursue higher education.

Having plenty of books at home directly increases children’s literacy. It’s important for children to be able to select the books that they want to read and that they share those books with their family members.
