Fairfax Free Book Bus

According to the US Department of Education, children who have more books in their homes tend to perform better academically and are more likely to finish high school and pursue higher education.

Having plenty of books at home directly increases children’s literacy. Letting children choose books themselves encourages them to read independently.

The Fairfax Free Book Bus is a 503(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. Our goal is to provide free books to children in the DMV area to improve literacy and inspire a life-long love of reading. We enable children to make their own home libraries that encourage reading and learning. With our community partners we work to collect books and plan events to distribute them.

Since 2022, the FFBB  has collected and distributed over 20,000 books to local children.
